Large And Varied Choice Of Fishing Tackle Boxes

By Rebekah Alford

For those new to angling they may be completely unaware of the vast variety in fishing tackle boxes that are available. You may imagine that it is a simple requirement of something to keep all your loose bits in. To some extent this is true but serious anglers have serious needs and the market has obliged accordingly.

So initially you have a few floats and hooks and weights, maybe lures and flies depending on your fishing style. Spare parts, line and possibly different reels are always handy to have and things like scissors, disgorgers a set of scales maybe are all small items that you will need to carry. A box is necessary then to keep them all together and make them easy to transport.

The equipment does not stop there either, with rod rests, keep nets, landing nets, bait and of course the all important rods. For long hours on the riverbank it may be a good idea to have a storage box you can sit on. The market has not let you down and there are many versions of boxes that will support you, even some with legs that adjust to allow for the uneven ground.

The storage space within the actual case is also an important issue. The more the compartments fit the equipment the less the bits will move around and each fisherman has his own favorite equipment. For this reason the market has again provided variety and choice and even boxes with adjustable compartments and shelves for just that reason.

This equipment all still has to be transferred from home to fishing site and quite often this can be a fair distance from where you can park your transport. If you find that you have more stuff than you can carry in one trip this causes problems at to what you leave unattended on the site while you fetch the rest. This can be a real problem as animals as well as humans have been known to make off with or damage sometimes expensive items,

This means that you seriously need to be able to transfer everything in one trip. So another check of the market will show even more variation is available. Trolleys that transport everything inside and out and then easily become a padded chair with all your equipment at hand.

One of the cleverest of these designs is built like a barrow. Once you arrive at your place of choice it then has spirit levels to allow you to set up the adjustable legs so that the padded chair is nice and even. Once it is set up the equipment is easily accessible from the box which sits behind the seat and acts to stabilize it.

With such a large and varied choice of fishing tackle boxes available it is now a much more important decision as to how you spend your money than you may have previously thought. Buying small now may mean you have to spend a lot more money later but what you buy may still fit into your larger set up. Buying bigger now may last you a while, but whether it will suffice later on only you can decide.
