The Best Holidays In SA

By Kyle Olsen

South Africa is one of the most popular holiday locations in the world. Granted, summer is the most preferred time of year as this time of year is warm and dry, which allows for plenty to see and do, for all age groups.

Cape Town is known as the Mother City and equals some of the most stunning cities in the world. And just to to strengthen the point, Cape Town has gained award after award for World's Cleanest Beach and Africa's Leading Destination, just to mention two ... of the twenty two awards!

So then, what exactly is there to do in Cape Town? Well, Cape Town has the magnificent Table Mountain, which vacationers can go up in the cable cars and enjoy the incredible views. In summertime, you can even delight in a picnic on top of the mountain or walk up the mountain. On clear days, the views are awesome and ideal for taking the most stunning pics. Cape Town alone makes holidays to South Africa so worth the journey! Nevertheless, there is far more to see and experience.

When you come to South Africa, you need to make time to go to a few of the beaches. We have three "Blue Flag" beaches around the Cape. They are a few of the cleanest, whitest and most stunning beaches on the planet. The water temp depends on which beach you visit, so be careful of that. Along the West Coast, the waters are freezing however fantastic for surfing, if you are brave enough, and in Gordon's Bay, the water is warm and pleasant to swim in. When you visit and are with a tour guide, then they will recommend a beach concerning warm and cold water beaches. If you are traveling on your own, then Google will be a big help, but then so will the locals, if you ask somebody, as they are very friendly and relaxed.

Another landmark of Cape Town is the V&A (Victoria and Alfred) Waterfront, which has a massive shopping center with a very diverse and big, food court. At night, the V&A changes into a wonderland of noise and light as the bistros fill up and live bands can be heard everywhere. You can even book a meal on a floating dining establishment and delight in the waterfront view from the deck of a boat.
