Dax Locke And The Heart Of Christmas

By Pamela King

The winter holiday season often pays hosts to a number of television and movie specials related to Thanksgiving, Christmas and the forthcoming new year. One of the most memorable of these specials is the The Heart of Christmas, an inspirational film based on the Locke family. For, it is a story based on the true life experience of Dax, the youngest member of the Locke household.

The actors portraying different members of the family are right on target when it becomes to taking on the character roles of family members, friends and associates. In addition, cinematography and music add an extra dimension to which many to believe one of the best Christmas stories of modern time.

The actors all do a great job of portraying different members of the Locke family, relatives, friends and associates. Based on the journey of the Locke family with regards to decorating for the winter holiday season before and on Halloween, the story is a touching and heartfelt tale of hope, love and loss.

While Ms. Walsh may have been the first to be inspired by the actions of the Locke family to assure Dax had an amazing last holiday season, Thanksgiving, Christmastide and Santa came early. Megan was actually the catalyst for sharing the story with the world when the journal was made into a script for a television holiday special. After which, the film became a holiday tradition for viewers around the world.

Ms. Walsh found this quite interesting since the holidays were still several weeks away. Later, Megan learned that the family was putting up Christmas decorations early for a toddler named Dax Locke whom had a rare form of leukemia. For, it was becoming clear to the family that the toddler had not responded to the last treatment option available and that this could very well be the toddler's last Christmas.

In order to obtain the information and updated status reports, Ms. Walsh read a blog authored and updated by Dax's mother, Julie. For, in reading the blog, Ms. Walsh could learn everything necessary to create an accurate picture of the Locke family journey. After which, Megan translated the information into a journal for future reference.

Whether the film happened out of curiosity, hope, faith or love, it has always been a favorite among movie watchers. For, it is a movie which takes viewers on an emotional roller coaster in relation to one family going through a difficult challenge. As a result, the film paints a picture of a family whom created an early Christmas for a child which many believed would not live to see the new year.

The movie provides a strong sense of charity, hope, faith and love. While the toddler passed in December of 2009, the family shared one last Christmas together which thanks to Ms. Walsh has now been shared with families around the world. In addition, Megan now spends more time with family and friends and fewer hours working late and on weekends. In large part, thanks to the Locke family journey and other stories of terminal illness and loss, whether of a child or adult.
