National Parks are usually open all year, but it is best to check with the park you are wanting to visit to confirm that it will be open when you are planning on going. During the summer and winter the parks are generally more popular. If you want to avoid crowds, go in spring or fall.

When you are getting ready to go away from home and travel the world, do not forget to notify your financial institutions. To avoid future hassle with your cash-flow in a foreign land you should notify any bank or credit card company you do business with. Nothing is worse than having no money in the middle of nowhere.

Make sure you take plenty of water with you when you are sight seeing. It is always good to use a reusable water container that you can refill. You can continuously fill it, and you will be contributing to the environment by not using plastic water bottles. Keep hydrated when traveling!

It is helpful to label your power cords when you are traveling. Most people travel with a lot of different electronic devices. Not all of them will need to be constantly plugged in, so many people invariably leave one of the cords behind. If you write your name and phone number on masking tape and wrap the tape around your power cord, you have a much better chance of getting it back.

If you are traveling with children, pack a day of clothing in a Ziploc bag along with enough diapers and wipes if your children are small. Always carry a spare set of items in case you lose track of your items or simply run out. Being prepared will give you peace of mind.
